GelatoFest 2026!!

We’re hosting our second annual GelatoFest on Sunday, September 20, from 12-9 pm at our Frankfort Avenue store at 2240 Frankfort Avenue. This free event marks Gelato Gilberto’s 20th year in business and will include authentic Italian food, live music, an Italian marketplace, and activities for all ages. There will be a gelato eating contest at 5:30 pm as well!! 

Authentic Italian cuisine will be part of the festivities, with food from Flavaville food truck by former Vincenzo’s sous chef Serge Katz, focaccia and biscotti from The Italian Loaf, tiramisu from Monella, cannoli and of course gelato. There will be family friendly games and activities, including printmaking for all ages with A Place to Print, a bubble station, and face painting from 4:30-6:30. There will also be an Italian marketplace with a flower stall from Fiorisci, Primo Olive Oil, Italian jewelry from Ciao Bella, an Italian bookstall, festival merch, and other vendors.

Eatz! will sell Italian beer and Frankfort Avenue Liquors will serve Italian wines, four kinds of spritzes, and house-crafted limoncello. Musical guests will include Joe D’Amato, Mike O’Bryan, Lily Lu Gilbert, and Louisville Gypsy Jazz as well as special performances by cast members from Kentucky Opera’s upcoming production of The Barber of Seville.
